A Ministry for Parents and Children

"...We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed."
- I Corinthians 15:51

Our nurseries are located just off the main lobby of the auditorium building.

Nursery care is provided for all children birth through 3 years old.

The nurseries are available during all regularly scheduled services.

Our Goal

We consider every baby a blessing and promise from the Lord. It is our desire to serve the needs of you and your child as we would serve Christ. We attempt to provide a comfortable environment so that each child may feel happy and loved. The seeds of later trust in God are rooted in an early positive experience at church.

Safety Measures

The only acceptable nursery is a safe nursery. Temple has gone to great lengths to insure each child will be nurtured in a safe and secure environment.

During each service our nursery is supervised by trained and diligent ladies of our church and/or paid, qualified workers. They know how to respond appropriately in all emergencies and we have onsite nurses if the need arises. Each volunteer and paid worker has completed a thorough application and safety screening seminar and are constantly monitored to make sure quality is upheld at all times.

The nursery rooms are regularly inspected to remove or correct any dangerous elements.
Children with known illnesses are not admitted into the nursery. A parent in the sanctuary can be notified immediately of any needs through our nursery alert system. Each parent receives a pager when dropping off their child in the nursery which alerts them when their child needs them.

The church has developed a fire plan for all rooms in all of our buildings.

Check-In Procedures

In order to provide the best experience for baby and parent alike, we have developed a procedure for checking children in.

When you complete the sign-in sheet, you will supply the nursery personnel with important information such as where you can be located, child’s special needs, etc.
You will receive a pager when you drop off your child, which also serves as a "claim check." Only the person with the pager will be able to pick up your child. The pager will go off if your child needs you during the service. It is very important that you hold on to the pager during the service and return it when you pick up your child.

Please bring a diaper bag. Your diaper bag should contain the following items:

3-4 diapers
A plastic bag for wet diapers
A bottle
A bib
A complete change of clothes
A sweater and socks (during cool days)

Our Cooperative Nursery

Temple’s nursery is a cooperative effort. We ask that members placing a child in the nursery volunteer to work in the nursery on a rotational basis. Before serving, you will be asked to complete our interview process and be a member of Temple.

Christian Education

Small children can learn simple lessons from the Bible, and to love and trust God. Temple has structured a Bible learning time during the 10:40 am service for children 12 months and older. All curriculum and methods are designed to be age-appropriate.

Nursing Mothers

Temple has set aside a special place of privacy in our nursery for mothers who want to nurse their infants away from the din of other activity. The area has cushioned rockers. Ask the nursery personnel to direct you to the nursing mothers area.

Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.' - Matthew 19:14
