Packing the Diaper Bag for Church
- Be sure to label your child’s diaper bag.
- Pack enough diapers to last through two services and the trip back home. Babies are checked twice during each service.
- Pack at least one change of clothing.
- Label bottles, pacifiers, security blankets, burp cloths, etc. with your child’s name. This is the only way to prevent mix-ups.
- Please do not allow your child to bring toys from home, however if he/she has a special blanket or sleeping item that will give comfort, you may bring it in the diaper bag. (Labeling it will prevent it from being misplaced.) Be sure to notify the teacher that it is available in the bag.
- Please notify us if your child has an allergy. Write it on the “special comments” section of the sign-in sheet and tell the teacher as well. If it is a food allergy, you may want to pack a snack in the bag for snack time.
- If you pack teething gel or special cream for diaper rash that your child needs to use, please document this on the sign-in sheet. Special medications may ONLY be given by the parent.
- Bottle-fed babies should have at least one 8-ounce bottle of milk/formula and one bottle of juice/water packed in the diaper bag. Nursing babies should have a 4-ounce bottle of breast milk or water in case it is needed. (Nursing mothers should check on their babies between services if no supplements are packed for them.)
