Journey

Here at Temple we are committed, at the core of our ministry, to focus on Spiritual Formation. Our pastor believes it is the next reformation in the life of the church. The church needs to focus on what it means to know God and not just know about God. There is a growing suspicion or realization that we have not done well with the reality and the need for discipleship. We have counted on preaching, teaching, knowledge and information to form faith in the listener, and have counted on faith to form the inner life and outward behavior of the Christian. But, for whatever reason, this strategy has not turned out well. The result is that we have multitudes of professing Christians who well may be ready to die, but obviously are not ready to live, and can hardly get along with themselves, much less reproduce their faith in someone else.

Our pastor has co-written our discipleship material entitled "Journey". It is a unique path to spirtual maturity with the ongoing focus on reproducibility.
