Pastor Ken Wood

Ken and his wife Amy met in Temple's youth group back in 1991.  They dated throughout high school, married in 1997, and moved to Phoenix, AZ to study for ministry at Southwestern College (Now Arizona Christian University).  Ken served as Youth Pastor at North Village Baptist Church in Phoenix until he graduated in 2000.  After graduation, Ken, Amy & their firstborn son, Trevor, moved just outside of Austin, TX to become the youth pastor at Central Baptist Church in Leander, TX.

In Texas the Lord added a second child, Sherri, to the Wood family.  They served at Central until 2005, when God opened the doors to come back to Temple as the Youth Pastor here.

During the first year back at Temple, the Wood's third child, Emma, was born.  Ken was the Youth Pastor until November of 2010 when he was appointed as the new Senior Pastor.

Ken loves to hike in Colorado's beautiful mountains, ride bikes with his family, and to share life with others following Jesus.

Youth Pastor Evan Magelssen

Evan came on staff at Temple January 2016 as part time Youth Pastor.  Evan and his wife Nicole are excited to work with the great team of volunteers to help our students realize their calling to be the church of today & tomorrow.  Evan came to know the Lord during his freshman year of high school after attending a soccer event hosted by a local church. Although he grew up in a household full of instability and anger, Christ seized his bitter heart and replaced it with a heart for Him. Shortly after, Evan went on a service trip with his church and felt the Lord leading him to a life of serving others in the ministry. Nicole was raised in a Christian home and realized her need for a Savior when she was seven. She felt led to serve Christ in full time ministry since that day but surrendered to His call shortly after a missions trip her junior year of high school. Evan and Nicole met while working on a group project at Baptist Bible College in 2011 and got married shortly after graduating in 2014.

They enjoy the life of being foster parents, spending time outdoors, rock climbing, traveling, practicing photography and hanging out with their cat Mocha.

Children's Director Shauna Church

Shauna Church came on board as our Children's Director in the Summer of 2014.  We are very excited to add this part time staff position to reflect our commitment to grow and improve our children's ministry at Temple.

Shauna has many years experience as a teacher, both in public and private school settings, and has been active in church ministry all her life.  She grew up in a pastor's household, so is very familiar with the dynamics of Church ministry.

Shauna's commitment is not just to provide our children with a great opportunity to learn about following Jesus, but also to build into and encourage the many volunteers needed to operate an effective children's ministry.

Shauna can be reached at shauna@templepueblo.com

Secretary Barbara Gonzales . . .

Barbara joined Temple staff in August 2016. Barbara and her husband, John, moved to Pueblo "officially" in April 2014 from Broomfield, CO to be near their oldest son and his family. Prior to moving to Pueblo, they lived in Panama where John worked for 5 years. John and Barbara have three adult children - Christopher, Jeremey, Valerie and are blessed to have two beautiful daughter-in-laws and ten grandchildren.

John and Barbara gave their lives completely to the Lord in March 1995 while going through some tough times. As a result, they have served in several ministries including a church in Panama. Barbara has also served on staff as an administrative assistant at a large Baptist church in Denver.

They enjoy spending time together hiking, biking, fishing, camping, skiing and Barbara is an avid runner.

Barbara is in the office on Tuesday 8:00 am - 5:00pm and Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

The office is staffed on Wednesdays and Friday morning by various volunteers who love the Lord and enjoy serving the church.
